The Green Energy Boom on Automotive Electronics

On one side the price of crude oil is increasing, on the other vehicle emissions regulation of all Governments is stricter and stricter. Energy-saving and environmental-protection solution is the first thing for the vehicle manufacturers and system builders to do, whether the new powertrain, such as hybrid, DI gasoline engine and battery-powered, or the smart navigation system to monitor fuel consumption at any time, as long as the technology is related to "green energy" all become the new hot spot for the automotive electronics development.

Electric green cars in Olympics

CAN control system is mainly responsible for the operation of vehicle energy management and driving mode, to achieve vehicle fault diagnosis, and other functions. According to the introduction of Dr. Nan Jinrui that Olympic green electric vehicle is the first comprehensive use of CAN bus application. CAN bus covers the three major systems: a dynamic system with SAE1939 agreement, the transmission rate of 250 K / S, connecting the vehicle controllers, battery management system, AMT and the drive motor; the bus nodes specially designed for the battery management system including: vehicle controller, batteries relations system, car charger and the instrument; body electrical system, transmission rate of 100 K / S, connecting wipers, doors and the disabled other car parts. The common node of these three is the vehicle controller, using a four-way CAN interface with NEC32-bit microcontroller V850 as the control core and gateway.

The bottleneck of the electric vehicle is that the battery is expensive with relatively limited driven mileage, and a long time charging. Dr. Nan said, the Olympic battery of electric bus system used pearl-chain way combination, 360 Ah battery can guarantee 180 km car travelling without opening air-conditioning, 120-130 km with air-condition. Rechargeable electric bus station using a new battery quick-replace system, all the power batteries of electric bus together charge on the shelves after being removed from the vehicle, and the automatical replace time can be shortened to 10 minutes.

Environmental-protection driving
In order to control driving fuel consumption and vehicle manufacturers absolutelythink many ways. They configurate the indicator light on the dashboard, use color code to display driving state, and help drivers to reduce fuel consumption. This system uses the engine' s ECU RPM information, variable cylinder information and torque MPG, when the car in a state of no fuel consumption, the indicator will be a different color.
